Rifle / Carbine Basics
8 Hours w/ two breaks (15min) and a one-hour lunch.
Classes may be extended to cover material and additional questions.
Rifle / Carbine Basics is square one of owning, handling, manipulation, firing and semi automatic rifles.
This curriculum is designed for the AR-15 / Semi-Auto rifle owner who is new to this type of weapon system. This is also a great way to update basic knowledge and fix bad habits. This class will exceed Washington state Initiative 1639. A certificate will be emailed to each student after class.
Shooters who are proficient (and SAFE) with law enforcement style, competitive shooting and obtaining basic rifle zero would benefit more from intermediate level training. Please contact us with questions.

Shooters should come with an open mind and willingness to learn. This is a live fire class. All legally owned Carbine / Semi-auto rifles are allowed and most ammunition is accepted, please no tracer, incendiary, spread or armor piercing rounds.
Prerequisites –
A good attitude, open mind and willingness to learn.
The ability to stand, sit and kneel unassisted (wheelchairs may be acceptable depending on range terrain).
The ability to understand, pay attention to and follow basic instructions in English. Currently, no multilingual instructors are available.
Required equipment –
-Semi-auto rifle (AR, AK, Mini14, Etc) chambered in .223 / .556, 7.62×39, 30carbine, 300BLK, 7.62×51 (.308), or any pistol caliber carbine.
-(2-3) Magazines for the weapon platform that fit correctly and function (AR 30 round suggested). Minimum capacity of 5 rounds, no maximum capacity limit (bring a drum, it’s your ammo).
-100-150 Rounds of factory loaded ammunition for the platform.
-Sighting system properly mounted to the platform – Optics 1-6x (LPVO) or fixed power x2-x3, Red Dot Sight (RDS), or Iron sights. Zero is not required, as we will be discussing and conducting rifle zero. An abbreviated barrel break- in (if needed) can be conducted during zero. Please let us know if you need assistance mounting your sighting system prior to class.
-Appropriate Outdoor Clothing and Footwear based on the terrain and current climate (Classes are conducted snow, rain or shine) Knee and elbow pads are suggested but not required.
-Baseball style hat.
-Safety or prescription glasses and ear protection. Ear protection and safety glasses will be provided for those who do not own them.
-Students under the age of 18 will be required to be escorted by a parent or legal guardian, who must be registered as a paid student.
