Intermediate Rifle / Carbine is our second step in owning, handling, manipulating, firing and semi-automatic rifles.

This curriculum is designed for the AR-15 / repeating rifle owner. This is also a great way to update knowledge and fix bad habits.

Students signing up for this class should be proficient and SAFE with all topics covered in our basic curriculum. Students with law enforcement, military, and competitive shooting backgrounds should meet the basic requirements. Please contact our staff for intermediate-level requirements.

Topics discussed in this curriculum are –

UNIVERSAL FIREARMS SAFETY
Nomenclature
User level rifle field striping for maintenance
Operational diagnostics (suppressed, unsuppressed, buffer, calibers, etc.)
Ballistics (internal, external, terminal)
Reload types
Malfunction clearing (all six possibilities)
Shooting / marksmanship
Positional shooting
Maintenance

Shooters should come with an open mind and willingness to learn. This is a live fire class. All legally owned Carbine / Semi-auto rifles are allowed and most ammunition is accepted, please no tracer, incendiary, spread or armor piercing rounds. A magnet may be used to identify any steel core projectiles as they are not allowed at any ESLLC classes.

Prerequisites –

This is a hit the ground running type class 2 hours max class room (hopefully less). 8+ hours range time.

An elevated level of safety is imperative for this type of training.

A good attitude, open mind and willingness to learn.
The ability to stand, sit and kneel unassisted.

The ability to understand, pay attention to and follow basic instructions in English. Currently, no multilingual instructors are available.

All students are required to be beyond the basic level requirements or you may be asked to reschedule for the basic class.

It is your responsibility to know your skill level prior to class. Please don’t be the individual who slows down the class. Requiring basic level attention wouldn’t be fair to other paying students who are looking to advance their skills.
